Headline of a news story appearing on the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera (referring to the title of the blog). It is well-known by now that Italians do not get married, neither have children, therefore birth rate is actually negative in Italy. Why blame Italians? With an elite broken economy, political and sex scandals, corruption, traditional gender roles that place women as sexual objects, it is ironic to find a solution to birth rate and financial stability in the government implementation of a new, but old initiative that gives money to those "traditional" couples who procreate, tactic that was well-known to Germany during the 1900 century. But to give a spin to the Italian program, there are some politicians who sustain that help should be provided only to those who are 'legitimate' (woman-man) couples united by marriage. Pretty much NONE. Because as far I know, all the Italians I know, who currently have children are not married or have unresolved personal relationships. The question or problem then is another one. Why are Italians not having children? Why are men and women still living with their parents at age 40? Why if you have a master in law you end up washing hair at a beauty salon? The Peter Pan syndrome is embedded in the negligence of a government to function as "tale."
Wearing t-shirt from Forever21, jeans from A&F, socks by Juicy Couture, and cardigan by Zara. A very relaxing home outfit. I would never wear the outfit outside the house.

From American Apparel.
I dig this outfit, at home or away! Haha. But it is pretty casual. Still cute.
ReplyDeleteThis Peter Pan syndrome that is taking over the world is bizarre! Why don't people want to move on in life and become strong individuals? Is it laziness? Is it boredom? Do we have too much access too quickly? It seems like with the boom of technology came this lack of motivation. I don't get it! And from the sounds of it, Italians got it bad.
